Saturday 14th September – Scoot and stroll family event

RIDE AND STRIDE IN AID OF SUSSEX CHURCHES

A fun couple of hours scooting or strolling around Horsham. Leaving St Leonard’s at 2.00pm, visiting Holy Trinity, the Unitarian Church and ending up with tea at St Mary’s. Keep the date free. Sponsor forms are available in church. There’s one for our church family – all ages. Please sign the list if you would like to go.

The traditional RIDE AND Stride will also take place and Tim will be approaching people to “man” the church in due course. See Tim if you would like to take part in the sponsored event – walking or cycling.

Friday 20th September – FISH AND CHIP SUPPER

It is planned to resume these starting with a visit from Saut, one of our Indonesian colleagues who is travelling to the UK to meet us. He will give us an update on the YACAN children’s home and experience English fish and chips. All BEATS supporters and all those interested in BEATS work will be most welcome for a friendly and informative evening. If you don’t have time for supper or don’t like fish and chips you will be welcome to join us afterwards…about 7.15.

Sunday 22nd September at 3.00pm – ST LEONARD’S 80th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

There will be a service of praise and thanksgiving for our church’s 80 years – a short “Songs of Praise”, followed by afternoon tea with cake and Prosecco. Revd David Evans is returning to us to give a short homily. All members of our church and community are welcome – perhaps you know somebody who has been connected with us in the past and who you would like to bring along. Various special guests will also be invited.

WE NEED – lots of help, please – to make food for the tea, to serve and wash up on the day, to help decorate the church and hall and to provide a small craft table in the hall for children whose attention wanders!

THERE ARE LISTS! Please read carefully what is needed and sign up for something. There is a job for everybody!

GOOD FRIDAY 2020

Horsham is taking part in One Good Friday in 2020 where we, as part of Horsham Churches Together, will be joining other towns and cities across the UK in presenting a outdoor passion play. There will be no service in St. Leonard’s that day and there will be jobs for everyone to do. This is a huge and exciting project. Application forms are now available.
